2019 Wrestle / 2020 Challenge

2019 Wrestle / 2020 Challenge

I don’t know about you… but 2019 was without a doubt one of the craziest years of my life! It felt like a non stop adrenaline rush for about 12 months straight - lots of new adventures with accompanying challenges. And last night it all kinda hit me (as it does this time of year).

As you know, I developed and launched 15 products in 2019 and essentially started a brand new business. To be honest, I didn’t really know what all I was getting myself into. I was just trying to make cool things and create some side money for passion projects.

It quickly grew far above my expectations - allowing me to trade less hours of work for more dollars of income - all while helping a ton of fellow filmmakers all over the world.

But… I wrestled a lot with the tension of absolutely LOVING growing into a smarter businessman, entrepreneur, marketer, etc while still remaining fully artist. A feeling similar to my days in high school of trying to decide what I “wanted to be when I grew up” before realizing no one was stopping me from trying it all.

So I decided to take an opportunity to remind myself out loud to pursue it all. Not to impress anyone. But because I feel called to, and I’m crazy enough to believe I can.

Oh and in case no one’s ever told you... so can you. :)

If you’re still reading… I’ll extend this challenge to both of us at the beginning of a new decade:

TAKE THE LIMITS OFF what you think you’re capable of, the amount of money you can make, the people who’s lives you can change. If there’s anything I’ve learned this year, it’s that your path isn’t going to look like anyone else’s.
Whether that’s finally writing/pitching that movie you’ve always wanted to make, going full time freelance, creating residual income, or (like me) something completely outside your typical comfort zone… 2020 is your year.

Next year I plan to release 15 more products (effects, courses, and books - Tour Visual Elements VOL 3 coming next week and 5 others in the works), shoot the feature length documentary I’ve been dreaming about for 2 years, start a podcast, make more music with Elle Azar, serve at my church, travel the world, and keep believing that even all that is a small dream compared to what’s actually gonna go down.

2020 is going to be the greatest year, and I can’t wait to see what it holds. What are you most excited about for what’s coming?

Happy editing everyone, and Happy New Year!!
See you on the other side.
-Ezra

PS, if you’re interested in learning more about some of my journey this year and the process of creating residual income as an artist, click here. I may share more about it this year to a new list. So go sign up! :) If not, no worries. New products are headed your way soon!
